Explore what pinhole viewers and giant telescopes have in common through using lenses to construct a basic model of a telescope. NGSS for Earth and planetary science,  energy, and light waves.
  • Learn how telescopes use lenses and mirrors together to organize light to form images of distant objects.
  • Explore the properties of both light and lenses.
  • Construct a simple telescope.
  • Receive a set of 24 Galileoscopes (shipped directly to your school or organization). $1,500.00 value.
Workshop for teachers, after school staff, faculty, and informal educators.
Registration – $40.00 (includes a mini-kit of materials and 24 Galileoscopes).
Workshop is presented by Brian Kruse from the Teacher Learning Center at the Astronomical Society of the Pacific and hosted by the SAM Academy and the Community Science Workshop Network.
