Program Overview
SAM Academy’s String Program offers comprehensive instruction for students of all experience levels. Lessons focus on strong fundamentals, music literacy, technique development, and performance skills across classical and traditional string instruments.
Hours: M-F | 2:00 PM — 7:00 PM (Class times based on instructor availability).
Lessons Offered: Drums and Percussion.
Lesson Length: 30 Minutes.
Cost: $35 per lesson.
Age Range: Preschool & up — tailored lessons are available for young children.
Beginning String
- Instrument care and tuning
- Proper posture and hand positioning
- Basic note reading and rhythm counting
- Open strings and basic finger placement
- Simple melodies and chord shapes
- Introduction to strumming or bowing techniques
- Foundations of practice routines
Intermediate String
- Expanded fingerings and positions
- Scales and arpeggios
- Chord transitions and progressions
- Improved bowing or picking techniques
- Reading intermediate-level music
- Introduction to ensemble playing
- Stylistic studies (classical, mariachi, folk)
Advanced String
- Advanced techniques and positions
- Complex rhythms and musical phrasing
- Advanced chord voicings and progressions
- Solo and ensemble performance preparation
- Improvisation and stylistic interpretation
- Audition and competition preparation
- Performance confidence and stage presence
